Nitidae · September 18, 2026

As part of the project coordination and monitoring of the implementation of APBA-Rs in the Anosy Region, a joint mission brought together STDs, CTDs, PTFs and representatives of the Anosy Region. The mission included areas of intervention in the PA-CIWT project. It provided an opportunity to assess on the ground the status of partner-led activities, in particular support for households' livelihoods implemented by Nitidæ and the natural resource conservation actions implemented by MNP.
Exchanges with COBA members and local authorities were used to gather their observations, identify the difficulties encountered and exchange solutions adapted to the realities of the field. This participatory approach contributes to a better understanding of the needs of communities and enhances their involvement in the implementation of activities. The mission also verified achievements and monitored support to beneficiaries, including livestock and agricultural support.
By consolidating this collaboration, the PA-CIWT project continues its efforts to promote sustainable development, combining improved livelihoods and combating trafficking in protected species. The involvement of local actors promotes better ownership of activities and encourages the adoption of more resilient practices in response to environmental challenges. Through this participatory approach, the project helps strengthen the autonomy of communities, their ability to preserve their natural heritage and development opportunities for present and future generations.
