Result 3: Local communities in the target PAs benefit from improved, diversified, and sustainable livelihoods.
Product 3.1: Rural communes in the target protected areas have functional natural resource management committees and communal natural resource management plans.
- Activity 3.1.1: Collaboration between the PMU and MEDD to support target communes in establishing natural resource management committees and developing NRM plans.
- Activity 3.1.2: Establishment of natural resource management committees in target communes with support from local DREDD offices.
- Activity 3.1.3: Development of NRM plans with target local communities and selection of development priorities.
Product 3.2: Local communities implement pilot projects on sustainable natural resource management and alternative income sources, based on the communal natural resource management plans.
- Activity 3.2.1: Partnership between the PMU and the NGO ECART to assist local communities in developing, implementing, and monitoring pilot projects on sustainable NRM and alternative income sources.
- Activity 3.2.2: Development and selection of community pilot projects.
- Activity 3.2.3: Selection of beneficiaries for the economic pilot projects.
- Activity 3.2.4: Implementation of training programs for the selected community pilot projects.
